My Griff went into APM at the weekend, and the car is being used as a template so other Griff owners can benefit from non Tower View / Roll centre or the cosmetic TVR bars. The bar is going to be made to FIA standard, so will offer protection..
Re cost, speak to Andy, you'll be suprised!!!

I've fitted one in my Griff. Described here: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=9&h=&t=42477
Hope this helps.

Decided it's time to get a roll bar for the Griff
Would this effect the insurance?
Any advice or experience much appreciated!
Thanks!!
Had Towerview fit a Rollcentre Rollbar to my previous wedge last year. Informed insurance company (Peart) and it made no difference to the premium.

Rude Girl's just had one fitted to her Griff....Looked vgood + good finish; but when I sat in the car , the rear vision was severely impaired.
I have the same thing with the bar in mine. It is not too bad with the roof up, but with the roof down the targa panel obscures the view at the bottom and the rollbar obscures the view at the top. Looking through the rearview mirror is like looking through a letterbox.
I prefer the idea of surviving a roll to having the best view of cars disappearing behind me though.

Tiny,
Could you also provide more details on what you're doing?
Also see here for what is possible in terms of a strong twin hoop design.
I would be very interested in something similar.

So would I... but that frog one doesn't look very pretty does it! I think I prefer the look of a standard one to that.
Great news about APM. Lets hope he prices it more competatively than the Tower unit. I know a lot of us want them but the price of the tower one seems to much for most of us. Please lets not have the "what price on safety line again". Running these as second cars is expensive so lets be realistic. A normal bar for a normal car only costs half of what a TVR owner has to pay and all we want is a bar that does not leave us feeling upset about how much it cost.
