Urgent help re head gasket

I have lost my original packaging and whilst manual says head gasket will have front and top written on it mine doesn't.

The gasket is metalic on one side and fibre on the other with just the letter A imprinted on the Metalic side.

It will fit both ways, so does anyone know which side should face the block, fibre or metalic.
