Since driving the Mini for the last few months I have developed a bad back...probably the bouncing around around the country lanes.

Can you get extenders for the seat to give more leg room?

Any better seats that I should fit?

Any other suggestions?

Beswt to buy some really decent after-market seats like Corbeau or Cobra. Look in the Demon Tweeks catalogue of web site for a good selection including sub-frames for the seat mountings. It's worth spending the cash to get both comfort and eliminate the risk of getting a permanent bad back. You will find that really good seats need full harness belts as lap-and-diagonal belts won't work with proper 'bucket' seats.

Minisport do an Alex Moulton designed Suspension package (Smooth-a-ride?) which is claimed to take some of the bounce out of the ride. I'm sure it'll compromise handling somewhere along the line.

Most people set-up Mini's far to stiffly for the road. If you've got adjustable dampers back them off a bit. Secure handling is all about consistent tyre contact patches, and a tyre only grips when it is in contact with the road... hehesmile

or find a set of seats from another car you are comfy in but make sure they arn't too wide. i had a set of rover vitesse recaro's in my mini they were very comfy and supportive. but they did limit acsess to the back seat. 3 door seats would be the best bet.
