Hi guys, just starting out on here. Just a quick question really, is it worth getting a K&N Air filter fitted to my car, does is make it sound any different and does it increase performance at all. Thanks

Get the biggest one you can. Ie a [] not a o .

They make more row.

They allow a bit more air to flow.

With that you can richen it up a bit for a bit more welly.

The K/N element for a normal filter flows very well IIRC. It's very big indeed.

what engine are you running carb or injection? carb'd minis run more power with just a drilled stock air box.

If you fit a K & N, it is recommended to fit the 'stub-stack' which goes inside the filter element. This smoothes out the air flow and provides better throttle response as well as a slightly better top-end power figure. However, it's only marginal and really a competition mod rather than a road going mod.

Depth is more important than width. The distance from the air inlet (trumpit idealy) and the flat plate of the air filter can give you gains in power. Other than noise only realy high power minis nead anything but the standerd range of mini KandN filters. Contact K and N thay are normly very helpful.
