I need a little help I have just put my 89 Mini Flame 30th aniversary back together only to find out the rear bumper doesn't fit. I have made a few phone calls and I have been told I need to get a bumper with 4 "bolts" the only problem is I want a chrome one like the one I took off but I'v been told it only comes in black plastic is this true? Any help ismuch apreatiated asthis is the last part I need to do before I can take her back out on the roads

ring up someone like mini spares or mini sport and see what they say but i'm sure it won't be hard to find one. but i'm sure a 30 and a flame are two different editions of mini?

for years you have only been able to get three bolt mini bumpers. the early mk1s had five bolts and i think (note think!) that clubbies and specials (fitted with the square shaped ones) had 4 bolts (though this may be clubby fronts im thinking about)

if a normal gen or pat stainless wont fit the rear of your car is suggests that at somethime its been rear ended, or had a poor rear valance rust repair

the cheap chrome ones wont fit the rear without serious messing, they catch on the boot hinges normally.

ive never seen a four bolt smooth saloon bumper

hope this helps

Thanks for your replies it kind of helps smile I'v had a look at the rear end and I can't see any evidence of a rear end shunt. I've spoken to moss europe and they've told me that some "special" models did have the four bolts but they dont stock chrome bumpers I'm hoping that I can find the old bumper with all the junk bits in the loft.

or you could just drill the lip and fit a three bolt bumper
