Hi sorry I am after more advice, I have a problem with my wipers - the fast speed does not work however the slower speed setting works ok.
Is this a normal problem on a 2000 cooper sport and if so where should I look first.
Do they run off the same fuse?

Thank you

They run off the same fuse. Check that all the connections onto the motor are OK. If they are, check that there is powere on each connection with the appropriate wiper speed selected. All you need to do this is a circuit tester. If you have power to the right wiper motor terminals on both 'slow' and 'fast' settings, then check the wiper earth. If that's OK, then it's s problem inside the motor. If there is no power tom the 'fast' terminal, trace back to find the break in the circuit.AS with all electrical problems, do the testing in sequence until you find the fault.
I hope this helps.

IIRC and I am going back to 1976 when I converted a Midget to two speed, the second speed comes from an additional brush on the commutator. Could be that which has failed or alternatively has the wire simply dropped off the back of the switch....
