Pardon my ignorance being new to minis. The metal channels holding the windows up seem to take a beating & on inspection, mine have completely disintergrated leaving the windows part down! Does anyone know if new channels can be fixed to the arms on the window mech or do I need an entire new window mech with arms and runners?

Hoping it won't rain tonight.

You can buy the runners from Minispares, you will need the rubber seals which hold the glass in the channels.

It may be these that have gone,

or

if so you might want to change this too

if both of the channels have gone then you can the kit to do the lot (one kit does each side)

These go rusty due to the rubbers not sealing against the glass so I'd think about changing these too

Right side http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&p...

I hope this helps mate.

Excellent, thanks very much! I need kits as both rails are shot - I poked one with a spanner and it turned into dust.

Do the rails just slide into the top of the arms?

Cheers again

Yeah they slide in the arms. Its an awkward job but I found that putting the winder back on the mechanism after taking the door card off helped as you can move the arms around a bit.

I took mine apart changed the metal bit and put it all together to find that I'd put the metal bit slightly too far to one side so the arm came out when the window was fully up, so I had to take it all apart again and adjust.
