Hi all can anyone let me know how easy is it to change the front subframe mounts on 1998 cooper sportspack . I have quite a bit of play in them so I want to upgrade them to poly mounts rather than putting standard ones on . Also if its not an easy job roughly how much will it cost for someone to do it.

If the mounts you describe are the ones at the very front of the subframe/to front panel they are straightforward.

Replace them all, not just the fronts (which don't do very much anyway).

I did a combination of solid front and back with poly top. The ride was not bad and much less movment. But it depends on how you want to use the car. The back ones were the hardest to change but still an easy job. Just do one at a time and you should be ok.

Yes, do it on all the mounts and you'll notice the difference in steering precision and handling. In fact it's as near to Mk. 1 steering as you can get.
Not a difficult job if you have a decent tool kit.

solid mount the front subframe with the alloy tower bolt mounts. I used solid floor mounts too, combined with hi-lo's (slammed to the floor smile), cheap lowered dampers and sportspack wheels the handling was awesome smile
