Pete...

Where can I obtain this hallowed BarCoat isolator primer you heartily recommend. I have a small piece of body repair that keeps suffering from paint reticulation and bubbling. Is it available in cans, and if so where do you get it from?

its only cheap - i get it from my local paint supply company.

be warned though, its only for painting onto keyed old paint - if you paint onto bare steel it will just flake off (guess how i know............ ha ha)

I get mine from my local paint company, AR Davies in Royston, Herts. I think tht's a brand name and other paint manufacturers may have different names. Just ask for a good isolator. I always spray using a gun as I really don't like spray cans, except for when I go out spraying grafitti on a Saturday night!
Guru is quite right, you must paint it onto a surface which has at least been etch primed or which has existing paint on it.
