Push Button Start - SPi
Discussion
I recently did exactly this on my 1964 car.
Take the cover off of around the ignition key area.
Locate the white/red wire and disconnect it rom the ignition switch. Connect this wire to one side of your starter push button.
Now locate the white wire on the ignition switch and add another wire to this and run it to the other terminal on the new starter button. You can use a 4-way bullet connector anywhere in this wire and it's probably best to pick up the feed at the fuse where the feed goes to the coil +ve side. That's the ignition power wire and you only want the push button to work when the ignition is on.
That's all you have to do.

Just out of interest, does anybody know what is required in order to fit a push button start to an SPi Cooper and how difficult it is to do so??
Thanks
buy a kit, it should have all the instructions you need. I fitted on to my TR7 2 months ago or so. Apart from the instructions being a little complex and badly written it wasn't too bad. Thanks
