rover mini cooper identification

Hi, Im lookig at a mini at the moment, claims to be a 1994 cooper, how can i be 100% sure it IS a cooper and not a lookalike?

The chassis number, Engine number and google.

Also any certificates with the car details. Mine has a genuine Cooper Conversion certificate from JCG.
