Hi guys,

I'm in the market for a Supercharged model, the 2007 Facelifted model is a little more than I want to spend, so I'm pretty much looking at the 2006 model, but I have some specific questions on the interior spec.

1) Is the Heated Accessory and Luxury Interior packages standard on 2006 SC models as it appears to be on 2007+ models?

2) Is there any downside to getting one plated as 2005, basically if I found a 2005 with less miles and in better condition than a 2006 would I be missing out on any spec or are there any issues that were rectified during the 1st year?

3) Any clues as to how I can spot the Heated Accessory and Luxury Interior packages when browsing low quality Pistonhead/Autotrader adverts when the advert text is pretty sparse? I don't know why but I feel I'd be missing out if I never got:

Contour seats with 16-way adjustable power driver and passenger seats
Upgraded leather on seats and door pulls
Upper dashboard and cubby box leather
Heated front and rear seats
Heated steering wheel

Info taken from : http://www.rangerovers.net/modelspecs/L322/2006.ht...

I've read all the owners guides, but if there's any info specifically relating to a SC 4.2 of those years I'd appreciate it smile

I have a 2007 model so can't help, however my friend has a 2005 so I will ask him and come back to you. I won't see him until Friday though.

How much are you looking to spend? I may be putting mine on the market shortly so may do a good deal for a quick sale!

Looking at your list, I think everything you want is standard, it all appears to be on my car anyway. The Supercharged is equivalent to Vogue SE spec, so pretty much everything is standard.

Funnily enough, I think the later seats lost the upper backrest adjustment.

I would say look for a decent 2005 car, I'm not aware of any early faults in the 2005 cars.

When the SC first came out it was fully loaded with pretty much everything. The 2007 model diminished this somewhat and the likes of rear entertainment were made optional.

I think I'm pretty much made up on a 05/06 then. I am so impatient now I have sold my old toy that I was half tempted just to go and look at the closest SC to me (a grey SC in Cramlington with black interior here on PH), but after mulling things over I think I'm going to hold out for my ideal spec which is Black paint with Ivory/Parchment interior and the piano black wood. Not too concerned about miles as long as the interior is mint (no worn drivers seat) and it's enough under 100k such that i can get an aftermarket warranty without too much hassle for the next 5 years (I only work 5 mins from home so anything under 80k should be fine)

Did you see my Carpool article on my FFRR s/c?

I really like the colour combination on my car, which you'll find good pictures of on the article. Whilst it has a highish mileage at 113k, the ivory/ jet two tone interior is immaculate. The Bonatti grey is fantastic as well, Black is great, but really needs to be kept clean.

Piano black interior is fantastic, definitely get that. Also when buying, check everything, both rear screens, check the headphones, both lumbar supports, all seat functions, adjustable steering column, suspension height settings etc etc.

Go and have a look at the grey one, drive as many as you can so you start to get a feel for them, you really want to be as clued up as you can with these cars.

Also try and get a LRE day (Land Rover Experience), this will heighten your appreciation of the car, and help you get the most out of it, even if you never take it off road. They were giving them away through the LR fanpage on facebook, or otherwise you may be able to blag one from a dealer!

Go for it, these are dream cars, I love every time I take mine out!

Check the date on the registration doc. I think that cars pre March 2006 will be £210 road tax, and those after £400 a year tax. Someone with more brain cells will be able to confirm the exact date.

Other than that get stuck in. Great cars. Love mine.

I did bud, it was a great article, I was edging towards one before reading it, but after I wanted one even more.

I went to see the grey one, I never called the place and was just going to turn up, when I got close i rang him as it looker to be a home trader, he said the car was as good as sold (which although I didn't want to buy it, I wasnt going to tell him I just wanted a look around as I was being nosey)

I've got my heart set on black/ivory now, I'll def give everything a once over to check it's working too smile

Yeah, it's worth getting the cheaper tax, if I was going to get stung with the 400 I think I'd just push the boat out & get a 2007,

smile can't wait

guys, quick question on the interior, is the ivory considered more desirable than the black? It's just there are quite a few black in my grasp, but I need to go up a bit to find an ivory one? Or is it just the luck of the cars ATM where they're mostly black, and if i wait I'll prolly find a heap of ivory ones come on the market?

Also anyone regret getting the ivory in terms of keeping it clean? I think it looks classier, but is the black going to wear a bit better long term?

Ours is 'parchment', and have no problems in keeping clean.

I found the black/blck of my previous car very dark inside, this seems a much lighter and airy cabin.

Cant help with price, its just the colour combo that was on the car I bought. model/mileage/condition etc came first, this was mmy exact spec so ended up with red/parchment.

I think the ivory/jet duo tone is best, all black is a bit dark, all white is impractical, so the duo tone is the ideal combination. I think it's quite common in the S/C!

Are there any colours to stay away from, resale wise?

Black is my favourite (when clean)
Silver / Grey nice
Dark Blues ok
Red better in flesh than pics
Green not my cup of tea
