The market for used Range Rovers
Discussion
So my new Range Rover is here Monday and I am going to sell the TD6 Vogue privately.
Normally, I would have a car valeted, serviced and taxed before sale in order to attract the "right" kind of buyer.
However, I am aware that Land Rover owners are sometimes people who like to do things their own way, using their preferred garage etc. So, should I sell the car serviced, taxed, valeted and in need of nothing. Or should I reduce the price a bit and sell it as it stands?
It is pretty much spotless anyway, but the MOT is imminent and the oil service reminder came up last Monday.
I am veering towards selling it all done, because it's a one owner car. But I don't want to go to the expense if I won't see it back and if the new owner will still want to take it to his or her own garage anyway. Thoughts appreciated chaps please.

I'd say prep it, an oil service won't cost much, and an MOT will be essential to sell it. Bad time of year to be selling it though. Seem to be quite a few TD6's available, however there'll always be demand for a good condition one owner car. There's a dealer on the Fullfatrr site who will probably make you an offer if you want a hassle free sale, PM me if you want his details.
Sounds like I'm selling "done" then.
Bozman, thanks but I turned down a trade sale because I think it's a good car and I don't want it "nicked" off me. I could have traded it in but the dealer said I'd get £5k more privately.
At the risk of this sounding like an ad, as I am the first owner I can help a buyer organise finance probably because I have the original invoice and Lombard et al will arrange money even though I am not a dealer. So I can see no reason to trade it.
Will get it detailed, serviced and put it in the classifieds.

Got you -"Autobiography Noble Finish Design Pack" (have a 2011 Supercharged grille sitting here and it's a different colour to the standard one).
Yeh, like I said, trim. Dread to think how much it cost. The other car I was considering had illuminating sill lights. This little bit of bling - £300.
My new car has deployable side steps which in normal circumstances are I think £2200.00. I said they could have them back. So I paid a fraction of the cost for them.
