Afternoon all,

I dont normally frequent this section of PH but having finally had my order confirmed by the dealer for an early October delivery of my Fuji White Dynamic 5dr petrol Evoque after having my deposit down for what seems like an eternity now I thought I would make a quick post.

I am booked in to the Evoque Unleashed test drive event at York racecourse on Sat 6th Aug @ 5.30pm but I may now need to be in Manchester that day so am wondering if there is anyone booked into the same event in York on Sunday 7th Aug that would want to swap to a slot on the Saturday evening (if this is even possible to do with LR?). Any takers???

Not long to wait now...

Have you managed to get a slot for Sat or Sunday yet because I have just successfully swapped to the Sunday night following a few cancellations - and also my slot at 5.30pm on Sat will now be free for someone

No i havent, i was on a list for sunday which is the only day i can get of work (the joys of being a shift worker) and i havent had a call offering me a place. Would have liked to have gone but Im getting a car anyway so I suppose i will just have a drive when the dealer gets one in which hopefully wont be too long.

I'd definitely recommend giving LR events a call to see if there has been cancellations. I only enquired when they called me to confirm I was attending on Sat and I just asked if any spaces had come up on Sunday so quickly swapped.

Thought I would update this thread after attending the Evoque Unleashed event at York racecourse yesterday...

Firstly, I must say 'hats off' to LR for organising such a great event. I was genuinely amazed when the LR guy said in the first briefing that they had 30+ Evoques there in nearly every spec combination and that we would have nearly 1 hour of driving in these cars on our own around York. Admittedly, it was around a pre-programmed route but was a great opportunity to get a feel for the car and see how they performed. We were then treated to a very nice dinner and had the opportunity to really have a poke around the cars and ask lots of important questions to the LR guys who were all very knowledgeable and extremely friendly and helpful.

In terms of the car I can only comment on the 5dr Dynamic Si4 that I drove (and have ordered) but what a car - the power delivery of the petrol engine is superb and the car feels great to drive in combination with the very responsive auto gearbox. In sport mode and dynamic mode you could really through the car around and it handled like a hot-hatch with very little body roll thanks to the magnetic ride suspension, which incidentally soaks up every single imperfection in the tarmac that our roads are unfortunately littered with. All in all I can only say that I was and still am genuinely amazed by how capable these vehicles seem to be and I am truly converted. Bye bye TVR T350c and Ford daily runaround - Hello Evoque.

One thing to state however, I was very surprised how many people there had not actually ordered a car yet and this must be very annoying to the large amount of people who have ordered a vehicle and could not secure a place to attend!!!

Which sounds like very sound marketing to me - why preach to the converted? ;-)

Personally, I'd love a go, but I guess I'll just have to join the queue I assume there will be at my local dealer?

Does anyone know of someone looking for a cancelled order for September? My brother-in-law ordered one and now can't go ahead with the sale
