I'm leaking.......(defender issue)

Ok for the eagle-eyed amongst you this is not related to my big off at Xmas and subsequent repair/rebuild. This happened before then.

So heavy rain, I get water in driver's side footwell. Not loads. Not a pool. Bits on the floor mat. Carpet beneath is fairly sodden. Not passenger side.

53-plate defender. Common? Causes? Fix?

Yeah, very common. So common in fact, there is a workshop manual specifically for fixing water ingress like this. A few mins with Google should help you locate a copy.

Yes mine did it too whilst in warranty thankfully. Exactly the same place as yours. Ended up having new seals and dealer taking it through a car wash a lot. I wouldn't worry to be honest.

have you had warranty work carried out on windscreen (heated one fails) or paint rectification on the screen hinge piece, Generally a not fully glued screen or a paint repair which loosens the screen frame to the bulkhead then allows water to get through the foam seal. other point is a badly fitting door seal at high level allowing water to get through in heavy rain.

they really all do that after prolonged heavy rain
