Freelander 2 dead in the morning
Discussion
Have had a FL2 originally bought brand new in 2007. Brilliant car no problems apart from coming out in the morning, off to work, completely dead. Called Landrover assist who jumped started the car. Off to Harwoods we went, car there 3 days could not find any fault code at all. Car returned, this happened four times in 3 years come out in the morning car dead, jump start and fine for months.
As punishment I traded in my 07 plate and bought a 10 plate, two weeks after owning the vehicle same thing car dead in the morning. Called Landrover who informed me this was a rare case, but the AA man who turned up said straight away have you been using the handsfree.
What was happening was if you were still on the phone and turned the ignition off but still on the phone the bluetooth was not shutting down therefore draining the battery yet when I mentioned to Landrover they insisted they had never heard of this before. Now if I am on my phone I wait until I have disconnected the bluetooth before I turn the ignition off.
Has this only happened to me ?

Sadly the answer from the AA man is telling you the truth.
If the AA know about a fault like this then it is common knowledge amongst car mechanics and certainly so do Land Rover.
Sadly Land Rover are simply telling lies and not admitting to the fault.
But they know about it they just could not care less about their customers.
That is the modern way of business. Well of Land Rover anyway.
