In the service book it states that the on board computer determines when the service is due on the Range Rover.

Range Rover S Port and Disco etc are every 15,000 miles or 12 months.

It states that the services covered by the service interval plan do not apply to a Range Rover, which has a Service Interval Indicator located in the instrument binnacle.

How come my local Land Rover dealer are insisting my 30,000 miles 4 year old TDV8 should have been serviced 4 or 5 times????

You should have it serviced when it tells you to, or at least every twelve months. That's according to my Sport S/c manual.

Odd that. Our Sport has the same indicator, but as you rightly point out has the overriding 12 months max between services.

It would appear your dealer is wrong!
