A google search would have answered this instantly as they are fairl well documented.

Suspension
Does it rise and fall as it should.
Does the air compressor sound health
Is the car level
Does the car have any history of the suspension airbags been repaired

Heating and ac system.
Check every feature works. Parts that fail are 2p, but it's a dash out to replace

Engine
Check for history
Check for signs of blown head gaskets and over heating

They are the major things, but there are plenty og buyers guides out there.

Some of the issues we have with ours (4.6 Vogue/81,000 miles/bought new in March 2000):

SRS airbag light (airbag retensioned and circuits cleaned).
Coolent hoses.
Oil pump gasket.
Replaced crank pully and oil seal.
Play in o/s drag link.
Battery drain - caused by Navtrak.
Revs dropping on tickover - air flow meter showing 30kg/h (should be 90kg/h).
Central locking/key fobs - minds of their own.

Safety recall 18/12/2000 - engine idler pulley - premature failure.
Safety recall 30/04/2001 - gearbox breather pipe routing.

Comfort: pitch/roll on the 18" wheels (our previous 1995 4.6 HSE was a better drive on 17"s).
