Choice of range rovers

Hi I am looking for a range rover with a fairly flexible budget up to about £25k. I would obviously prefer to spend less to a point. But not to the detriment of reliability.
From more experienced points of view than mine, what spec and engines would perople recommend. I know they are opposite ends of the engine scale but my inital thoughs are a cheaper to run td6 or a more expensive 4.4 supercharged. Both in vogue spec .
Any comments appreciated.

For me, it would have to be a TDV8 Vogue (or if my budget would stretch, Vogue SE) without a moment's hesitation.

TDV8 vogue all day long for your budget. Maybe slightly higher miles 60K+ but that's not an issue if it's well looked after.

Is the tdv8 significantly better than the td6?

Much, much better. Faster, more refined & (I think) more economical.

The TD6 engine doesn't really suit the Rangy, as it has to be worked too hard to keep the car moving.

In order of preference, for me, it would go:

1. TDV8 (by a long margin)
2. 4.2 S/C
3. 4.4V8 (I had one of these & it was sublime, but quite thirsty)
4. TD6

TDV8....... don't touch the TD6.

The TDV8 is super refined in comparison to the TD6 and is generally a very strong unit......have had quite a few and as long as they are looked after they will be fine.
