New Defender 90 - running in?
Discussion
Hi Folks,
Not had a new car (and certainly not a diesel) for about 20 years so I apologise for what may be a very obvious question - do I need to 'run it in'?
You know the score not above a certain number of revs for a certain mileage, or don't modern engines need such treatment?
Cheers, Flash
ETA tried to search but it doesn't work at the moment.

I've not run in a new Defender before, but I guess just go steady on brakes for 1st 500miles.
And keep below 3k revs.
There's another approach which says "it's new and under warranty so drive it like you stole it and get it fixed free if things go wrong".
up to you I guess.
We'll be wanting photos also please

Get it to JE Engineering for a re-map. Not sure on 'performance' increase for a newer engined tune - buit my older Td5 does 0-60 in almost single figures I'd imagine (no, not single figure hours)
