Hi
Just spotted a 56 plate FL2 HST on a private sale. Not sure what the specs like on these? Ad states 190bhp is that right?

I know they have a bodykit on etc, but just wondered if anyone knows the spec of these, and is that stated bhp correct?

Wife currently has a 3 door FL1 Sport which she's had from new but since she's 6 months pregnant the 3 doors are going to be a problem quite soon. I was thinking of sticking it out for a year or so and then look for an 09 Disco 3, but wondering if this might be a nice stop gap for a couple of years.

Anyone got an HST, had one, or know much about them?

Thanks
Andy

Don't know specifics of the HST but the "SD4" engine is the one that gives out 190hp but it has only been available for the past 18mths.

Generally, the Freelander 2 is a cracking car to drive. Even in standard form, you should feel that it drives much better than your 'Sport'.

Go & take one for a test drive... wink

HST was based on the HSE without the sunroof, the memory for the drivers seat and the 6CD changer.

It got 19" wheels and the body styling kit instead.

I'd prefer a standard HSE if i'm honest and i've had one or two. wink

Thanks LHD.

Actually I don't think it's a true blue HST, looks like an SE thats been pimped up by the dealer when new:

Thats what I thought when I realised it was a 56. Saw it on the street with a private plate, so year not immediately obviously. Very tidy though.

Any idea on a realistic value?

Cheers

...it'll be out of any warranty too.

I'd want to confirm the power output too coz I didn't think the 190hp version was about until last year. That one should be 170hp.

I'd want that at no more than £14k.

Plus it's a manual which isn't very desirable.

It'll be 160bhp as that was the only diesel option at the time.

Cheers gentlemen, thanks for the info. On reflection it is too expensive for its year, as I said I was seduced a bit by its looks when I saw it and its private plate hid its vintage.

Think I will follow my original plan and stick with ours for a year or so and look for a nice D3.

Cheers
