trying to trade up my 2007 RRS supercharged to a 2008 full fat RR supercharged. Dealer couldnt be less helpful, looking at his watch, yawning.... dealer told me he wouldnt be as competitive as webuyanycar.com on mine and wouldnt keep as inventory? in summary across +£65k to cars he offered my £300 off. Insulting, want my £1000 deposit back (glad i funded them during this waste of time). I want a fair deal but no negotiating? are people really just walking in and buying?

Sounds more like he doesn't have the operating capital to take your car on his books and if he could he knows it's going to take ages to sell so he's not interested.

I'd say from what you describe you were talking to an unhappy salesman at a financially unwell dealership.

As above, could be a shakey future for the place.

Go ses another dealer and you should get a better response from them.

A supercharged RRS isnt as easy to sell as a diesel so guessing he doesn't want it stuck on the forecourt how much is the difference in price between the 2 motors?

Glass guide has mine at £20k p/x (trade to retail at £26k), he offered £18k with webuyanycar at £19k. Against his sticker price cost to change was mine plus £19k. his mental arithmatic was then less my £1k deposit and road fund licence was a £18.3k cost to change so "will do for £18k". I like the fact he included my own £1k depsoit in the negotiation against me! total car value was c.£65k to which he offered £300 off. We just bought a new mini clubman and got £2k of a £21k list, I bought a Ferrari last year and got 4% off sticker so all in all I got the hump and left. called another dealer who is "working on it"..... we will see

great update. Friend called the dealer about the car which was now on PH classified but not on dealers own website. Dealer said car had been sold. Searching again and guess what just found same car, exact same pics with another dealer within same group but now up in the Midlands at a lower price. What am I missing - this all smells rotten

Probably swapped stock etc. Different models and even colours sell better in different regions. Values differ regionally as well. Seems logical that if one dealer has a car that may sell better or quicker at another branch and vice versa then move the stock around?

so final installment of the saga. I gave up on the s/c I started with. I then failed 5x (yes five) times with different dealers about available cars only to be told every time.... "you wont believe this, someone just walked in and bought it" I thought I was jinxed. Just as I gave up hope I spoke to supplying dealer on my RRS who couldnt help. Then out the blue the original salesman on my RRS from 3years ago had overheard my discussion with his colleague and called me. Long and short is they had taken a vogue SE in p/x which wasnt on system yet. we then did a straight trade where his price and terms with a few bells and whistles meant we dealt. he's happy, I am happy and more over I was thoroughly impressed by him being the first proactive, thoughtful RR salesmen I met along this painful venture....

Have you tried Lookers Park Royal - speak to James ?

Alternatively, try and get some sound advice from www.rrsport.co.uk

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Can I ask why you didnt ring the salesman who sold you first time around first ?
And then when you went to the original supply dealer you didnt speak to him, if he was so helpful ?

Curious to hear why. When you obviously have been having problems getting a vehicle you want.

Embarrassed to say I was simply price focused and use the Internet to find my car. The RRS was from stratstone Mayfair which is nt normally the cheapest - my bad for not calling first dealer
