Door hinges - easy to do ??

Discovery 1 drivers door

is it easier to pop the pins first on the old hinge or
remove as a whole, do the new hinges seat themselves
for a perfect fit or will they need jiggling to fit.

not sure whether to pack door up first or take weight
by using ropes to suspend it.

any hints tips advice would be appreciated
