From a reliability viewpoint which engines in the FF Range Rover have proven to be the most reliable? Ive been thinking about getting one as the prices are cheap and have always thought the early ones with the BMW engines were best, but then I read somewhere that the Ford sourced engines were actually better.

I think the engines on any RR are the least problematic part! So any of them, well aside that 'orrible BMW TDV6.

The BMW diesel engine was TD6.

The Ford diesel V6 was TDV6.

Can we get this right please?

Thanks.

Right. TD6 is a straight six BMW engine and they are not so bad . Try one.

But if you'd prefer something more reliable, get the V8.
