Battery Trickle Charger

I have a charger that came with a Porsche that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket.
Does any one know if the 2012 RR Sport is wired up so that the same charger would keep the battery in condition during times of low use?

All you need to know is if the cigarette lighter socket is "permantly live". Easy test, unlock the car, but keep the key OUT of the ignition. Plug something with an LED on it into the socket. Does the LED light up? If yes, that socket is permantly wired in, so the charger will work in it. If not, it isn't.
