Over to the PH masses for input:

My 57 plate Freelander 2 HSE needs 4 new tyres on 235/60/18

The OE fit are Goodyear Wrangler HP 103V and they have done just over 30K up until now. With the onset of winter not too far away I need 4 new tyres and have the following choices so far:

1. Fit OE tyres again c£185 each all in but appear to be on back order in my part of the world (South Essex)
2. Continental Cross Contact UHP 103V at £179 each all in
3. Pirelli Scorpion Zero V103 at £173 each all in

Any thoughts or other recommendations gratefully received as I have a decent set of suppliers in my area including one who fits for Black Circles biggrin

A vote for the Pirelli Scorpion tyre, excellent longevity, performed faultlessly in heavy snow on the continent, quiet on the road. I have had 2 sets so far and been happy with them.

FWIW we have Pirelli Scorpion Zero's on my wife's FL1 and they have been fine both on-road and in snow/ice

Last week I found two places selling the Goodyear for about £150 - one of those being Kwik Fit. Previously had General Grabber UHPs, no complaints.

Cheer all. I have a couple of days holiday coming up so will sort the rubber out then.

I have a Freelander 1. Contis are good for 30k fronts and 40k rears. Tried a set of Pirellis (on price!) and the fronts were totally shot in less than 20k. Just bought a set of Contis from Tyres on the drive.

Generals knock most stuff into a cocked hat IMO on FL2s. Serious improvement over OEM.

I've ran UHPs and AT2s on mine. The former are superb for everyday duty. Snow and Ice pose no problem.

Many thanks for the input all. The Grabber UHP has excellent write-ups and I can get 4 fitted for £141 each locally so will get them sorted next week biggrin
