Had my first experience with the BFG Mud Terrain on icy roads. OMG!!! Talk about slippy.

So what should I have on instead?

Road tyres is the best thing for compacted ice, although nothing is going to be great.

A winter tyre would be best, but all round I and many of my customers have found the General AT2 to be very, very good.

AT tyres be it General or BFG seem to get the thumbs up

Personally, I run Michelin XZLs (7.50x16)... I don't believe in wide tyres! wink

its been said before.

Winter tyres on narrow rims.

Shame we cant run studded in the UK.

They look like Mud tyres. So is it that they are a softer compound?

Sure there was another post which said you can provided the studs dont damage the road.
