RRS - crazy warnings
Discussion
So having used the TDV8 for daily commute for the last 2.5months, today I tried to take it out and got a mixed bag of error. Transmission faults, parking brake fault, suspension fault, power assist steering felt like it was 'pulsing', going into reverse to park it up felt very clunky. Car is an 07 with 57k, came from a franchise stealership.
New battery? Or simply return to sender for a fix (Perth, now the Edinburgh branch has closed)?
Incidentally, had the car on a trickle charger for a few hours and tried again; errors all gone, but I'm not convinced. Anyone with experience/ pointers?

Given that LR have said the battery isn't included in their pre-sale checks or covered by the warranty, I've fine with changing it. And I'd either get LR to change it during their checks, or source one myself.
On the other hand, I don't see why I should be left with a bill for the alternator (£200 parts + labour) to replace.
Currently getting it booked into the local place to be checked over.

So, diagnosed as the alternator has given up the ghost. Currently with Stratstone Jaguar Edinburgh who have been most helpful (so far) and have the car in bits fitting a replacement. Battery has been checked and is fine.
My maths was wrong before; picked up very end October, so not 2mths in yet. We'll see the state of play tomorrow when I pick up again. Doubt any costs will come my way.

This (I hope) is the situation that I'm in. I seem to have charged the battery enough to get to the garage, to be informed that the alternator is duff. Fixed under warranty, with no damage to and therefore no replacement of the battery.Dr Rick

My old RRS SC did this and Battery was replaced only for issue to return. In the end they replaced an ECU in the Dash and Door as both were suspected of keeping the car "alive" after locking, glad of the warrenty for that one.
Hmm, will keep an eye on this one, and may invest in a solar recharger just in case. Warranty-wise, I'm going to invest in one recommended on the RRS forum by a site sponsor; very reasonable price and covers wear and tear items too, unlike the LR version. Also, if you go for a 2yr cover, you get roadside recovery thrown in.Dr Rick
