Has anyone done this? Having read up on a few websites it seems the BMW Mk4 unit is a plug and play swap out which gives moving maps etc.

On eBay the units are selling for £275-320.

Has anyone done it? If so a couple of questions:

1) Is it worth it? Does it offer postcode search and is the 3D 'bird view' a lot better?
2) Is it really plug & play? I'm a real electrical oaf so would be good to know if it really is an easy swap!

if you see the L322 thread i suggested a swap was possible - but one poster said not?

best ask a main dealer or FFRR forum

Yes it's possible, yes it's plug and play, is it worth it? I'd say not, I have a facelift L322 with the touch screen based system and I still prefer to use tom-tom, but if you're really keen to use the built in system maybe it's worth it to you.

Personally I'd just but a tom-tom 1005 with HD traffic etc!

yeah, its plug n play, although you will want the latest DVD for it

its a bit quicker, better graphics etc, if you use it a lot then worth it ...or just use aftermarket if you have multiple vehicles etc

Ok, cheers chaps, seems like its a bit cack for the cost (probably £325+ inc new dvd disk).

I'll save the cash for diesel, will probably get me a good 200 miles smile

If you have a TD6, I'd put the cash towards a remap!

What does a remap give a TD6 in the real world?
