Defender chassis repair.
Discussion
The ongoing saga of the Defender chassis continues...
I'm repairing my Defender chassis as it's too good to replace, and the car only gets used for hammering around off road so I don't want to invest too much money.
I have removed the rear tub for access and an currently wire brushing the loose rust off the chassis. My intention is to do the following:
-use some form of rust neutraliser which doesn't need washing off (as I don't want the chassis wet at this time of year);
-then use some zinc rich primer (Zinc 182);
-then finish off with some chassis black;
-then possibly some Waxoil over the top of this. I am also planning some Waxoyl/Diesel mixed and sprayed under pressure inside the chassis.
Has anyone got any advice or better ways of doing this?
Many thanks.
