New 2.2 or older 2.4 Defender

I am looking to get a XS 90 and want to know am I better off with a 2010/11 2.4 or brand new 2012 putting the money aside.

Thoughts please.

The 2.2 now has a dual mass flywheel and diesel particulate filter.

Those 2 things alone swing it for the 2.4 for me!

thank you but not sure if that really helps. I will be using it in London and up and down the M4/M23 now and again.

I've got a 2.4 90 XS and had a decent drive of the 2.2. If I was doing your journey then its the 2.2 really. Its slightly smoother, slightly quieter and apparently a bit more economical. Bottom end drive appeared better too.

If however I was just doing short trips ( as I do) then I'd hunt for a 2.4. Just the potential of the DPF failing is an unecessary unique feature of a Defenders many unique features
