I'm slowly building my ideal 110 - a 1987 v8 station wagon. The rear body (actually from a very early 1983 110, similar to a 109 station wagon) is in a pretty poor state and I have no interior trim bar seats and headlining.

Instead of buying all the necessary bits and bobs to do it up (priced at well over 5 grand) I was contemplating buying a 200tdi station wagon I've seen for sale locally. Doors aren't great but all the interior trim I'd there, the underbody cross members are good and the interior is great with 11 new exmoor seats.

Here's the question, any idea of a 1992 station wagon body (aft of the front bulkhead) will directly bolt onto a 1987 v8 chassis and vice versa? I was thinking of putting the original body back onto the tdi vehicle and flogging it.

Oh, and I was contemplating new galve doors from samara/ashtree, the early 110 ones with sliding windows. Anyone know if they'll fit a 1992 csw body?!

The 200tdi is 4 grand and I reckon that even if I managed to get 2 grand for it with the 1983 body on I'd be well ahead of trying to rebuild my own one.

Pretty sure the doors are the same.

I'm also fairly certain that the body tubs should be the same or very similar too. There might be a few chassis differences if the fuel tank is in a different place (not sure if it is, but 90 300Tdi and TD5 chassis's are slightly different to earlier 2.5 TD ones).

That said, I see no reason why you couldn't make either fit. All the body mounting points are available to buy, so just adapt as needed.
