Some useful scrote has snapped the near side wing mirror on our tractor/S1 Disco. Found the main mirror section hanging down only attached by the wires for heating and mirror motor etc. Not really any obvious signs of damage!

So, is this fixable? Or whole new unit? frown

Ps, can't really figure out what and how it is actually attached etc now..... Oh well?

Carefully lever off the black plastic triangle on the inside of the door behind the mirror. It has two 'legs' and can be very tight. Once you are this far, you will see three more screws and two plugs for the wires, one for heater the other for adjuster. You have to get the whole unit, but there are lots about if you find someone breaking a same age Discovery. The later '3003'/facelift Discovery mirrors are different fixing pattern.

Thanks. Dly hadn't thought about a breakers yard but at that age.... Doh!

Have the triangle off and see what you mean about fittings. Thanks.
