RRS TDV6 vs TDV8-based on reliability
Discussion
I'm strongly thinking of going for an RRS but just wondered what peoples takes are on the relibility of both models, yes I know the TDV8 is a much nicer engine but I've read a few scare stories about blown turbos and £5k plus bills, how common of an issue is this on TDV8s?, in regards to the TDV6 I know the 2.7 is a bit gutless in such a heavy car-I've driven one and didn't find it too bad to tell the truth but hardly deserving of the word 'Sport' on the back, however I would probably send it off to JE Engineering for a remap.
I know they have a rather expensive service at 105k miles or 7 years old in which the cambelt and another belt at the back need changing-costs a fortune at a main dealer but looking at decent indys seems to be anywhere from about £500-£900, if I went for a TDV6 I would probably be looking to get one that's 55 Reg to avoid the higher tax band so can factor in this big service, does the TDV8 have the same or is it chain driven?.
Lastly is it possible to get LR Warranty on a car that has full history if it has expird from the 3 years old original warranty?.
