Right sold my 4.4 tdv8 range rover about a month ago, and now looking for another landrover / range rover .... I know aak addicted and have a problem !!!

However I am probably in the right place,

So far had :

2011 4.4 tdv8
4.4 petrol loved it but always worried it would go wrong ( it never did !)
90 soft top ( had it for 5 years loved it, but wanted something I could use more often for longer distances)
90 hard top new ( always worried about scratching it)
110 hard top x2 to big

Initial thoughts are
90 50th, but don't know what they are like for long journeys
Rrc csk (absolutely love the one that has just been restored on here my hat goes off th that gentleman !! Restoration scares the he'll out of me to that extent
Rrc soft dash if I can find a good one

Advice and thoughts welcome, would love something to keep for quite a while and something relatively simple

Thanks

I had a 50th for 3 years. Only Landrover product i regret selling. Compared to other Defenders quite refined. No obtrusive noise into the cabin due to the more refined engine and auto transmission. I know many that have covered long distances in them including all other the continent. But they are not Range Rover comfortable. Thing is finding a decent one. And prices have risen quite considerably for nice ones.

Interesting, if you had to have another would it be a 50th or a rrc seeing that you have had both ?

The only thing that puts me off the classic is the rust !! I am ok with tinkering, electrics ( loads of tvr experience !!) basic mechanicals etc etc but rust is beyond me

I missed out on a very cheap ( it may have been for a reason) 50th this weekend which has sped up the search, ideally I would like a 5.0 tvr engined classic or 50th, my favourite engine and fave cars combined. One day I will, do it !! And stop talking about it, from memory they were called litchfields

If I went with another again then it would be another 50th. As nice as a nice Classic is. The 50th is just that bit special. It's got bags of character and they just stand out amongst a sea of blandness. Coupled with the V8 and auto box they are a completely different take on the Defender.

How about an imported NAS spec 90, either manual or auto with the 3.9 V8 and tube frame centre bulkhead.

A 2.8 straight 6 S. African import might be interesting too.
