Freelander 1 Clutch master/slave cylinder
Discussion
The clutch on our Freelander Dog wagon appears to be sticking with the pedal only coming back up halfway. If you pull it up with the back ofyour foot all is ok.
Clutch is not slipping at all.
I cant see any fluid leaks but am assuming its the seals in the slave cylinder. Are these easy to change for an average diyer? It appears the master and slave are sold as 1 complete unit is that right?
Cheers for any help.
its a 98 1.8 k series engine and yes the head gasket is ok !!!

Had this on ours, and it turned out to be a semi-seized pivot on the clutch arm - found after it took the clutch out (while on holiday
.) After replacing the clutch, we ended up needing a cylinder assy as well, as they dont like being disturbed. I think most L/R specialists would do it at the same time as the clutch. Certainly the place we took it to kept them on the shelf.
