Disco 3 tow bar

Why do people fit tow bars to Disco 3s? I thought they all had the removable LR one?

They have the mounting for the removable one as standard, but not the electrics or hook itself. LR charge about £500 to supply and fit these, so it's possibly cheaper to get an aftermarket fixed hitch fitted. Also I think the removable hitch has a lower nose weight limit than a fixed one, but it's still fine for most towing.

The removeable 'swan neck' style has a fixed height.

Some people need adjustable, so you need to fit a 'proper' tow bar to get the drop plate.
