I've found myself looking more and more at early RRSs, mainly in HSE trim as I like my creature comforts.

One thing I can't seem to find out though is can they cope with mp3s via sd cards or usb sticks with the standard setup? I can't remember the last time I bought a cd and as silly as it sounds it could really put me off.

The early cars don't have a USB interface but you can get an iPod adapter (It's a Harman Kardon system fitted to the car).

The 10MY cars (Sept '09) came with a USB & iPod connection.

Thanks for the info but not really what I wanted to here. I take it you can't control it through the steering wheel?

Is the head unit easily replaced with a more modern equivalent?

From what I can work out, you need to get the Audio Connectivity Module (VPLAE001). This will let you connect up an iPod and use the steering controls to give you 'Previous' & 'Next' control.

If you Google "VPLAE001", it'll come back with a load of information on it.

If you dont mind using an iPod instead of a memory card or stick, I've got a Dension IceLink connected to the head unit in my Sport, very neat charging cradle on a Brodit mount, works just fine. Feeds the signal direct into the aerial so no interference like you'd get on a transmitter type version. Steering controls for volume work as normal. Cheaper option as well, retail on the Dension about £40, the mount about £15. Easy to fit, no other cables needed, took about 20 minutes.

Sorry, not quite what you asked but it's an option!
