Follow the similar thread on here asking for help.

Main issue on the TD6 is undoubtedly the Gearbox. It was a poor GM design internally with a soft alloy being used where it should not have.

Budget c.£2.5k for a recon one & you need to be careful that it has had its internal valves replaced with "Sonnax" Valves

Have a look here:

Other than that, it's just the usual electrics to check & double check along with the air suspension. The engine itself is fairly bulletproof, is chain driven but can have occasional injector problems with rough starting as the main symptom.

There was an internal facelift for the 2005 MY (Oct 2004 onwards) which gives the "Touchscreen" Sat Nav as opposed ot the old BMW unit & then the 2006 MY got the external facelift too. Go for the touchscreen if you can.

Am selling mine with a properly reconned 'box if you're interested wink

Hi

I am too looking in to a 2004 vogue 3.0td6

What kind of mileage do the gear boxs see before issues show them selfs? and is there any other common issues to check out before i go to view.

The one i want to view has 53k on the clock.

Anything from 80k onwards seems to be on borrowed time!

That said, there are several at 120k+ on original 'box without any issue...

If it's an 04 model, try to get one with the "Touchscreen" sat nav as opposed ot the old BMW unit. The chassis number will have 5A in it & not 4A denoting the 2005 MY.

Any other Q's just ask thumbup
