LHD Freelanders, who buys them ?
Discussion
I was just browsing the LR classifieds as you do. There seems to be a healthy business in people offering to convert Freelanders from RH to LH drive, for about £600...varies according to company obviously.
So, as you can buy a half decent old Freelander for £1000 to £1500, is there a ready market abroad for an old LHD Freelander. I guess purchase price, conversion, shipping, local taxes etc....I would expect the local cost price to be nearer £3k.
I was just curious, anyone know ?

Converting a Freelander from LHD-RHD is a lot more involved than the older cars. IIRC even the body shells have different part numbers as the pressings for the bulkheads are different.

If you put LHD Freelander into Ebay, there are several places offering to this, relatively cheaply...I wasn't planning to do it BTW, but just curious.M
I've had several LHD cars in the uk, still have 2, but French classics, and i doesn't bother me which side I sit, but years ago a LHD was often much cheaper to buy in the UK. 20 years ago I had a lhd 924, I recall I couldn't afford a rhd one at the time. Now it seems LHD cars are at a premium.
