Sorry, don't know what it's called but it's the body trim strip (2003 90 HT) that sits on top of the rear wings (that the hard top sits on) that's rusting. To sort it the top will have to be removed. I'm thinking that if I do this it'll be better to replace the trim strip with a new one, ideally a galvenised one. Anyone done this and offer any advice ?

Thx....

Hi, yes you have to remove the body side to get them off. They are pop riveted on.
There is a company that sells these parts already galved, not sure of their name but if you buy one of the LR mags like LR Monthly, or similar, they do advertise.

They are called body cappings. .b.t.w if you go for a galvanised one you will have to etch primer it before you put colour to it or leave it as it is.

Cappings eh .... yes found them now. Just need to know what's involved in fitting. Roy, when you say the body side needs to come off do you mean the rear wings. I was hoping I could take the roof off then drill out the rivets and remove / replace the cappings.

Top off. Drill the rivets out and separate.
