After selling my G4 Defender a 4 years ago now, got the itch for another. I like the look of the x-tech silver black but is there anything else different about them.

Would need to be a 110 so not many around for sale although 2 at the moment.

wish I kept the G4 doh !!! my best friend bought it off me so at least I see it from time to time and he loves it.

New X-tech or old X-tech?
I've got the TD5 version and it's a van-bodied XS so ABS, TC, alloys, metallic paint and , wait for it, a sunroof.

my friend wont sell it back but also the 2nd row of seats of latest def is now better for us as we have 3 children and the G4 only had a lap belt in the centre and no head reasts of the 2nd row. Also I like the new engine etc.

I know this is the LR forum and I'll probably get flamed. But it's well worth considering the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. 116" wheelbase, plenty of room, well specced, faster and more powerful than the Landy and better mpg. Just watch the tow ratings if you tow often but should be ok and it betters the Defender in every way.

-- this from a through and through Landy fan too!

And buy a bit fat Harley too if you want to look totally gay. wink

FWIW OP, I saw a silver Defender X-Tech in the metal the other week, parked next to me at a downhill mtb trail, and it looked the dog's bks. thumbup

Thanks for all the replies. 300bhp -Ah yes the Jeep - but its another Defender I lust after.

Digga- Not seen an x-tech in the flesh but from the pics it looks good. used to be in the G4 owners club and did a couple of London to brighton runs so enjoy the social side of the defender and how it looks and drives.

my old G4 defender.

Having trouble seeing the difference between a x-tech and an xs apart from the colour and wheels/led lights. About 4k more expensive new.

What am I missing??

What sort of dealer discounts/hagles have been achieved for a new Defender 110 xs or x-tech 110??
