We've just bought an Evoque without the powered boot option and I've got a query regarding the boot and how easily it opens.

Should it lift up with ease or does it require a bit of effort?

Most cars I've had once you pull the boot open it lifts up easily as its helped by the gas struts but our car appears to require you to manually push the boot lid up.

If anyone has one and can let me know how theirs opens that would be great!

Other than this it really is a great little car!

I've only ever used the powered option but even so, it shouldn't be too difficult. Especially as the boot is a lightweight composite too!!

IME you need to give it a bit of a pull to get it moving, but then it's easy enough. I guess, given the trajectory, they didn't want it flying open and knocking small children out or knee-capping adults perhaps?

Yeh it will require some lifting, the struts are quite stiff when they are new
