I don't know much else but my one Discovery-owning member of staff is now 15 minutes late. Could it be it's because we've had a light dusting of snow here in Brum and that it's gone just a teensy bit cold?

I wouldn't mind this so much apart from the bks I'll have to listen to when he gets in. Why do you get year-round bks from Land Rover or 4x4 owners?

I knew. He finally arrives 20 minutes late and his first word is "Snow".

We don't actually have any snow outside our place. I've driven in no problems in my old VW Bora. The snow must be bad in his part of the world.

He's probably got one like mine - I swear it's scared of snow. During the first bit of snow in December it broke down, and this weekend the brakes failed - before the snow.

Bit of a generalisation there...

By posting that question in the land rover section it sounds like you are trying to provoke an argument... Let's assume that's not the case and that you are just frustrated at an employee turning up late and as such are venting your frustrations online.

I suspect that said employee arriving late and giving poor excuses has nothing to do with what car they happen to drive.

My parents always bang on about me being safe and using my Defender when it snows, not bloody likely, easy enough to get it going but stopping it is an entirely separate endeavour.

Eh? Who can't afford 600 quid's worth of Disco? Benefit thieves get more than that every time they knock a sprog out.

In fairness I should have posted in GG and had a general moan about 4x4's.

Bloody fking humongous great fking behemoths blocking the view and getting in the way whilst owners fking go on about how they're unstoppable by flood and pestilance and whatever, and the moment the temperature drops he's fking late and he blames the fking snow.

Mutter mutter grump grump.

and you moan about 'others' yet drive a very old Walmart 'porker'?? - LOL!

maybe your employee was late because some plonker in an old 'porker' could not handle 25mm of snow?

and having owned a Porsche whilst living in the Scottish Highlands - they are not good in the snow!

OP trolling is obvious.

Your well known for hating 4x4s, regardless of maker. Have seen this attitude on various that he's posted on.

Anyway, if your making fun and bring rude of another mans possible pride and joy regardless of its financial worth, your probably not a nice boss to deal with.

Which just goes to show that the 4x4 that's been bought to cope with the two days of snow a year will get as far as the first car that's stuck on it's wide summer tyres.

That is actually one of the funniest posts I've read in a long time! biggrin

OP you need to swat up on your trolling skills. Other trolls have been much more sucessful using a more subtle approach.

You shouldn't let other people’s choice of vehicle make you feel inferior.
