Series windscreens
Discussion
Hello, does anyone know if there is a method, preferably a cheap one, of improving the condition
of a 40 year old windscreen? My 2A's screen is clean but still difficult to focus through in the dark in poor weather. There are a lot of small scratches from so many years of abuse which simply add up to poor vision. Your suggestions are welcome!Cheers.

(It's a genuine URL, not being clever!)
Definitely something I will be looking at when I get my Series.
Many thanks. And I agree something I'll be getting for mine too I daresay. (It's a genuine URL, not being clever!)

What am I up against changing the glass? Do I need special tools or is it a Fairy Liquid and ignorance job?
Look on the http://lightweightlandroverclub.org/phpbb/index.ph...
site or the series section of http://forum.landrovernet.com/forum.php
It looks more like a new screws and putty job.
I've taken your advice and looked for Dum Dum. I get the impression it's almost impossible to source now, however reading some forums it looks like 3M™ Strip Calk 08578 is great stuff and useful for just about anything that needs flexible sealer that won't dry out and is immediately paintable too.

You can even get heated screens for them.
The series 2 club did a group buy on heated screen a few years back - can't remember the price but it wasn't huge. I put a drivers and passenger one into mine and they're brilliant! No more scraping of ice or wiping at a fogged up screen, just flip the screen on and in about a minute it's clear. As an added bonus, you can re-direct whatever heat you have at your feet!
Highly recommended.
