looking for a new 'dealer' to maintain my Range Rover

having spent thousands with Stratstone Nottingham i'm sick to death with poor/mediocre service

unless you are a new/business/corporate buyer you are simply a second rate citizen - maybe this is because they are part of a large 'anonymous' group?

Gordon Lamb are owner/proprietors - if your unhappy it affects them in the pocket?

all comments welcome

thanks in anticipation

Haven't had a problem with either. Bought my current FL2 from Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield - straight forward sale - fixed the rear diff when it went last year without any fuss.

Used Stratstone to service the FL2 last year - they came and picked it up and dropped it back off when they promised - never had a problem with any LR dealers really - I guess thats the benefit of them being used to give customer service on a regular basis !!!

I use them to service my d3. Totally fair and reasonable. Quite happy to negotiate prices. Also pretty efficient. No reason to complain (unlike the useless dealer in the steel city just up the road).
So it's a big thumbs up (and I am a nitpicking miserable whining old fart).

No problems for me either, always been good, no cause to complain.

update

booked the car into Gordon Lamb next week for a service

first shock - got to pay £20 for 'courtesy car' not sure if thats per day and plus VAT?

and what do i get - bloody Nissan Note - not impressed

at least Stratstone gave me a brand new Freelander free of charge

also quoted £60 more for the equivalent service from Stratstone (£320) - presume plus VAT?

not a good start?

Edit

Ps - Gordon Lamb do half price MOT - Stratstone free

i will 'live' with these prices IF the actually mechanical/technical service is exceptional

Per email nope I am nothing to do with them except using servicing. They have price matched etc for me and I don't recall paying for courtesey cars albeit I don't get involved in booking, dropping off, borrowing the cars etc my wife is in charge.
Had a horrible experience with dealer in Sheffield.
