Immobiliser Pairing/Main Dealer Rip-Off

Last week I bought a second hand P38 which came with two keys, one of which was not paired with the vehicle's immobiliser. I contacted my local main dealer who had apparently supplied the new batteries for the faulty key, and after speaking to five different people, I was informed that I needed to book the car in to have it paired and the minimum they would charge would be £85 for one hour's work.

A five minute search on the internet and I found how to reset the key with a couple of turns of the doorlock! Many thanks for saving me enough cash so I can afford to fill the petrol tank!
