A friend at work has a 5 year old 2.7l diesel RR Sport. The engine made an unusual noise and he limped the short distance to the nearby main dealer (in Moray, Scotland).

Early signs suggest it might "need a new engine" but they want £300 to check it out.

Is anyone able to help with a recommendation for a good independent in the area?

A new engine is £8k including fitting, a bill he's keen to avoid if possible.

Thanks, Simon

Go to strath earn.

There is a worry with 07 model tdv6 engines with crankshafts, not all cars on 07 are affected but there are a few cars on the disco3.co.uk site with 07 models and engine issues.
