without starting another argument on winter tyres i run 19" wheels with Vredestein Wintrac Xtremes in the 'winter'

in the summer i run 20" wheels

been using Dunlop QuattroMax SP's 255/50/R20's that came with the car

they now have about 4mm of wear left so time to change - i'm not taking risks with nearly 3 tonnes and spirited driving!

the options are to replace with the same - old technology

or

Continental Sport Contact 5 - supposedly new technology

price is about the same at £1K fitted

any views please?

NOT interested in budget tyres

though i will not use tyres with 4mm tread the tyre dealership has said they can sell as 'part worn' for about £50 each

What about Toyo ?

You can also change to 275/45x20 to give more options

Pirelli Scorpion Zero... Run them on the RRS and approx £200 per corner these days.

OE fitment too.

M & S labeled, good tyres and a good ride but don't last well.

Great tyres, many customers use them all year round, 40K+ not a problem.thumbup

thanks for all your replies

got a good deal on the Conti's - £1080

just been delivered fresh from Germany

the price includes

a) fitting/balancing

b) collection of my 20" wheels from my house

c) storing said wheels until i want to remove the Vredesteins

d) bringing wheels to my house and 'swapping over'

e) storing my 19" wheels

f) selling my part worn 'old tyres' for about £160

seems good to me

this was from a small independent tyre shop
