Ok, I might be able to soon buy a range rover autobiograhy on a N plate.
75500 miles
Almost full service history (either main dealer to Whites in Edinburgh.
A refurbished engine fitted by statestone in 2006
Being an autobiography, it has all the toys

All for £2500!!!!!!

However, this car is far from being mint.

Cons

The air suspension was swapped out for coils due to ongoing problem about 5 years ago. Now there is a knocking noise when going over bumps.

The engine coolant needs topped up fairly regularly. There is white mayo on the cooler cap, but none on the oil cap, and no white smoke from exhaust.

Last time it was in at whites Edinburgh to fix a battery draining issue, he also noted to the current owner that the steering rack on these are prone to go, and can be costly, and this one looks like its heading that way.

There are per minor things which I know I can fix myself, like rear screens not showing tv or DVD, general alert, cracked rear lit cluster etc.

So, my questions are,

What would you pay for this car in its current star.

How much would you budget for e above faults, including reinstating the air suspension.

It would be good to buy this, bring it up to scratch, then at least break even come resell time in say 2-4 years.

I'd run a mile and find another project. There's no shortage of P38 Range Rovers on Autotrader, and there are a few good ones about - personally, I'd look for one with a Thor engine since this fixed a number of flaws, and (so far) seems to have more reliable electronics.

Lol, cheers guys.

It actually the newer model, it was delivered new in 2003 according to e paperwork, but it was registered on a N plate according to the same paperwork.

This was bought as a used approved vehicle from stratstone edinburgh.

If it's on coils I'd wonder what else they cut corners on because they couldn't be arsed to fix it properly.

I'd give them £600 at the very most, even then it would have to have a decent amount of fuel in and tax.

Edit to add: Cost to repair? Worst case you'd be looking at at least £3k for a new engine and complete new EAS system. That's before you run into all the stuff that they bodged like they did the EAS.
